Overview

My practice focuses on civil litigation, especially on first- and third-party insurance defense. I approach each case with enthusiasm and diligence, knowing that every step is crucial to achieving a favorable outcome. For me, outperforming the opposition is not just a goal—it's a commitment. When I step away from legal documents, my passion for outdoor activities takes the lead. Whether I'm snowboarding (which I prefer to my mediocre skiing skills), mountain biking or rock climbing, activity bolsters my resilience and sharpens my focus. They're not just sports to me; they're how I reset and gain new perspectives that I bring back to my professional life. My two favorite places are the San Juan Mountains in Colorado and Minnesota's north shore. My love for exploration extends to the kitchen too, where I enjoy cooking and sampling diverse cuisines from various cultures.

Education

Where I Studied

I graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Madison where I majored in philosophy. After graduating, I attended The University of Minnesota Law School, where I received the Dean's Distinguished Scholarship and served as the director of the insurance law clinic.

Prior to joining Z&A, I clerked for Judge Amy R. Brosnahan from the Tenth Judicial District of Minnesota and assisted the Judge in managing a diverse docket of both criminal and civil cases, from the beginning to the jury trial. Working as a judicial clerk gave me a unique vantage — the ability to think about my cases through a judicial lens. I am better equipped to preemptively address the questions and concerns a judge might have and can thereby be a more effective advocate for my client’s position in court.

I am admitted to practice before the Colorado State and Federal Courts and the Minnesota State Court.

Global Experience

Where I’ve Been

I grew up in Tianjin, China. Before coming to the United States, I had the opportunity to study as an exchange student in the Réunion Island and Normandy area of France. Navigating through these multicultural environments has fine-tuned my ability to interpret and resolve complex, multifaceted situations, which I have often come across in the practice.
