Culture & inclusiveness

We were founded to include all perspectives and our clients' voice in how we practice, principles we still follow today.

A commitment to inclusion and diversity

Muliha Khan, partner

The focus at Zupkus & Angell above all is to provide excellent legal services to our clients. The philosophy behind our inclusiveness initiatives is that happy, valued employees will do excellent work. This unique approach to inclusiveness in the practice of law has proved to be very successful for Z&A.

Motherhood was never considered a burden- we did not want to lose valuable talent or to alienate clients that were struggling with balancing home and work life.

Bob & Rick, Founding Partners

More than 30 years ago, at his former large firm, founding partner Bob Zupkus was the first partner to hire a female associate.

The diversity was very important on the clients' issues. When litigating, we were always operating with real clients in a real world. It wasn’t a one-size-fits-all operation. Different people related to the juries, and clients were more diverse.

We practiced with the idea that it wasn’t all about the dollars and cents. The whole idea was to be small and nimble and focus on some specific areas that we were good at, most of all to practice with integrity and openly with our clients.
