Referred by your insurer
To embrace new people and new technologies, in making the practice of law work for real people in the real world.
At Zupkus & Angell, P.C., we’ve been trusted by leading insurance carriers for over 25 years to defend individuals and businesses in civil litigation. If your insurer referred you to us, it’s because they trust our expertise and now, we work for you.
When you’re facing a lawsuit, it’s natural to feel uncertain. You may be wondering:
- What’s my potential liability?
- How are my legal fees covered?
- What’s Z&A’s relationship with my insurer?
- What should I do with the legal documents I’m receiving?
We’re here to provide clarity, confidence, and legal protection—every step of the way. You Are Our Client. Always.
Although your insurance company is covering the cost of your defense, you are our client. Our legal duty and ethical obligation is to represent your best interests. That means:
- Clear communication tailored to you
- Full transparency about your case
- Legal strategy focused on protecting your future
What Will It Cost?
In most cases, your insurance covers 100% of your legal defense, including attorney fees and case-related expenses. If for any reason you are billed directly, you’ll benefit from Z&A’s
efficient approach and commitment to delivering exceptional value.
Am I Liable?
Only a judge or jury can determine liability—but we can help you understand the possibilities. Our attorneys have decades of experience evaluating risk in a wide range of civil matters. If coverage or indemnity applies, you may not be personally responsible for damages. We’ll help you navigate all available protections.
What If I Ignore the Letters?
Don’t. Failing to respond to legal documents can lead to default judgments and even loss of insurance coverage. If you’ve been served or expect to be, contact us immediately. We’ll review everything you’ve received and advise you on next steps.
Civil vs. Criminal Cases
Z&A is a civil litigation firm. We do not handle criminal defense. If criminal liability may be involved, we’ll coordinate with your defense counsel to protect your position in any related civil matters.
How Much of My Time Is Required?
Your involvement will depend on the case stage. We’ll guide you through:
- Reviewing facts and documents
- Responding to discovery requests
- Preparing for depositions or mediation
- Participating in trial, if necessary
We’ll always let you know what to expect—and when.
How Can I Help?
You know the facts of your case better than anyone. From the beginning, we’ll work closely with you to gather critical information and build a strong defense. The sooner we have the full picture, the better we can protect you.
Staying in Touch
Your attorney will communicate with you regularly—by phone, email, or video—depending on your preference. We’re here to answer your questions and ease your concerns. If something is keeping you up at night, don’t wait—call us.
