Leif was born and raised in northern Wyoming and comes from a family with a long history in the legal and law enforcement fields. With family members who were attorneys, police officers, and criminal justice instructors, the practice of law came naturally. Upon graduation, law school was the logical choice and next step in his professional development.

Leif’s practice style is open, communicative, tech-friendly, and he endeavors to help his clients understand and feel comfortable as possible with the legal process. He has substantial experience in complex civil litigation, including product liability, 42 U.S.C. § 1983 excessive force, wrongful imprisonment and other constitutional civil rights claims, municipal liability, general liability, contract litigation, construction defect, MVA, wrongful death, premises liability, catastrophic injury, property loss, and personal injury claims. He represents businesses and individuals, including general contractors and subcontractors, for litigation, corporate and employment issues.

He has achieved significant results for his clients and was significantly involved in an appeal to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals of a District Court’s denial of a Motion to Dismiss in a malicious prosecution case with claimed damages approaching $30 million dollars. That appeal resulted in a reversal favorable to his client and a published decision. He has handled dozens of mediations and settlement conferences on behalf of various clients and appeared at hearings in various State and Federal District Courts, including in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.

Leif is also proud of handling the overall case management, strategy, and day to day work representing a Colorado corporation in a complex negligence/product liability lawsuit, with claimed damages over $117 million dollars, arising out of a petroleum refinery explosion and fire. As part of that representation, he was responsible for the handling of over 7 million pages of disclosures documents and spent a substantial amount of time working with the Relativity platform.

When not practicing law, Leif enjoys spending time with his fiancé, drawing, painting, traveling, reading about a number of topics (particularly history), and the beautiful outdoors of Colorado and northern Wyoming.
