Alan W. Peryam has over 35 years of broad legal
experience. As a corporate and business lawyer in private
practice for more than 30 years, Mr. Peryam has gained a
keen insight into problems faced by business clients, their
owners, employees and investors.
Mr. Peryam’s practice focuses on entrepreneurial, corporate
and business law, including a full range of business
transactions, business entity formations, mergers and
acquisitions, and advising and implementing capital raising,
business growth and development, and related business
issues. Transaction size has ranged from a few thousand to a
hundred million dollars. Over the last 30 years more than
$600,000,000 in cash and securities have been received by
clients in various business transactions in which Mr. Peryam
was counsel.
Mr. Peryam has experience and knowledge required to advise
business clients in handling problems and to address
questions which arise through the operation of most
businesses, particularly including state corporate, LLC, and
partnership law, state and federal securities laws and other
laws and government regulations which may affect the
formation or operation of a business entity or a financing
transaction. Mr. Peryam is particularly effective in
suggesting creative and innovative solutions to difficult
business decisions and mediating acceptable resolutions to
issues before they become larger, costlier problems. As an
experienced business lawyer with litigation experience, he
is adept at assisting clients to assess the advisability and
risks of litigation, given the special circumstances of a
particular client.
Following graduation first in his class at University of
Wyoming law school in 1969 he served as a law clerk for the
Honorable J. J. Hickey, United States Court of Appeals for
the Tenth Judicial Circuit. He then served over three and
one-half years from 1970-74 as an Assistant United States
Attorney in Los Angeles, California, where, as a
representative of the Justice Department, he handled a wide
range of civil litigation from habeas corpus, immigration
and military law matters, to complex aircraft accident and
fraud litigation. In 1974 he returned to Denver to join
Hopper and Kanouff, a Denver law firm specializing in
business and securities law, where he became the fourth
partner in 1975 and remained until 1996, when the firm
dissolved. He engaged in private practice as a sole
practitioner, Alan W. Peryam, LLC from 1996 until joining
Zupkus and Angell, P.C. in mid-2007
